Despite suffering like a lot of other Australian businesses through the pandemic, we took a strong decision to continue investing in our future, and late last year we opened our new office in sunny Newy. It sits within the CBD on Tudor Street, close to the train link at the Interchange and not far from Honeysuckle foreshore.
After relocating to the area, Associate Director Matt Marks, has been tasked with heading up the office and increasing the staff count there to better support both our existing metropolitan and regional NSW clients. Matt believes this is a great opportunity for new employees to join the business and for clients outside of Sydney to feel they can be supported by local people with a vested interest in helping them. MBC Group are currently recruiting for two assistant building surveyors to join the Newcastle team.
Matt says ‘Newy offers our team a great place to live that is more affordable and provides a lifestyle change many employees are looking for post-pandemic. I moved here to support our business expansion plans and really like the location. Further to enjoying the local amenities, both MBC Group and I have a strong connection here as five of us have graduated through Newcastle University’.
He goes on to say, ‘we believe in supporting and nurturing talent for the future development of the building and construction industry. We’re proud to have launched our Scholarship program in 2018 to support second- or third-year students enrolled in the Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) with the Faculty of Engineering and Build Environment at the University’.
The MBC Group scholarship provides a benefit of $5,000 each year over two years of study (total value $10,000) to the recipient who is enrolled in the eligible program. This enables us to live our values while helping to play a small part in the future of the building and construction industry.
We look forward to our growing association with the city of Newcastle and northern regional NSW. We have a continuing expansion plan in place for other States, watch this space for updates.
