HINSW in partnership with Hunter New England Local Health District have planned for the $111 million redevelopment of Cessnock Hospital. It will deliver modern and enhanced services in a first-class facility to meet the future healthcare needs of the community. The redevelopment will address capacity, models of care and functionality and provide a welcoming, safe and secure environment for patients and staff. While the clinical scope of the redevelopment is to be determined through the initial planning process, clinical services will include:  

- Contemporary inpatient units 
- Emergency department  
- Theatre facilities 
- Associated clinical and non-clinical support services

The project will allow Cessnock Hospital to continue as an important networked hospital that supports health services across the Lower Hunter region. The development is split between a new building that will require some demolition works and upgrades to the existing building.

As a substantial healthcare investment, MBC Group were pleased to win the contract to provide Crown Development assessment and certification covering building compliance from a NCC and Access perspective.
